My great (perhaps great great ...) uncle Frank Clark is famous for killing a grizzly bear on August 21, 1923 - Old Ephraim.

How much of the story is true I can't say but I believe it is essentailly correct. It is true that Old Ephraim's skull was sent to the Smithsonian Institue which housed it for years. It was subsequently returned to Utah State University in 1978 where it is on dislplay.
